Heads Up Penny

Meet Heads Up Penny

Good friends.
Great nights.

Six musicians from Raleigh, North Carolina. A shared love of playing live. And a whole lot of songs we can’t wait to play for you.

Heads Up Penny performing together on stage

It starts with
knowing each other.

Rushton and Mitchell have been making music together since high school. That shared history is part of what makes Heads Up Penny feel like a band: friends who know how to listen to each other, find a groove and bring a room along with them.

Our sound moves through soul, pop, rock, country and the songs everyone knows by heart. From The Beatles to Beyoncé, Bruno Mars to Chris Stapleton, we love finding the connection between generations on a dance floor.

The evening takes shape with you. We talk through the music you love, the songs you’d rather skip and the moments that deserve their own soundtrack. Then we bring the voices, guitars, keys, sax and rhythm section together, listening to the room as the night unfolds.
